A lightweight semi-sheer silk with a fine, barely discernible crepe surface; has a softer hand than chiffon but is less transparent. It has a light, flowy fabric that is fairly breathable, has a slight stretch, holds dye well and drapes well.

| Usage | Since Georgette is not as sheer as chiffon, it is a great fabric for dresses. A Georgette dress has a beautiful drape and clings to the figure nicely. Georgette is often used for evening gowns, bridal wear, historical costumes, sarees and home décor. |
